Alot of attention been given around converting a non-nav to nav or also just to get one with a NAV. I like the non-nav look of the 07-08 much much more than the non-nav on 04-06.

I was wondering if a swap from the non-nav unit in 07-08 to the non-nav 04-06 would be easy or if anyone ever attempt to do this? This of course is just for look since they both have similar function but I am really curious.

Or am I the only one who feel that the all non-nav are the same???

Just to clarify. You are asking to swap the screens from a non nav 07-08 to your 04-06 non nav TL?

If this is what you are asking.. it is possible. Someone has already done it. Unfortunately, I am not sure what is needed to do this. Hopefully the plugs are all the same.

You'll have to study the electrical wiring diagram to see if they are the same. At the very least you should be able to replace the entire radio unit from the 04-06 TL with the 07-08 TL.

what I wanna know is what is the point of this? are they the same or do they look different? Seems like a waste to me unless the old one is broken and needs to be replaced.

They are different. The 07-08s look alot nicer .. they look the same when nothing is on. But when it is on they look totally different.

Yeah agreed they are a lot nicer! Had i not done the 07 navi swap into my base i wouldve for sure swapped to this...

Plus the 07-08 had the ability to decode Dolby Pro-Logic II and mp3s.

That would be correct. I like the look of the non-nav from 07-08 better than 04-06. Maybe a call to an acura service might be of use

I will try to give them a call when I have some time and see what they think.

oh cool they have a compass.. where is the compass on the navi versions? just on the Navi Map I guess?

I believe so. I don't care for it actually. I've always owned vehicles that had the digital display in the mirror, which I prefer.
