for those of you who bought a tl and already had a cell phone they liked without bluetooth, what are you guys doing? going out and buying new cell phones just to have it, getting some sort of adapters? living without this feature. getting a new cell phone with a small plan and having two cell phones? i spent more than 700 bucks on my p900 and i love it, ive only had it for like 2 months and i dont wanna sell it just to have one compatible with my tl?
why the hell do they call it "bluetooth" anyway?

I got my vx6000 LG from verizon like 6 months ago. I signed a 2year contract and everything. I don't think that getting another phone and having two phones is really an option. Then my contacts would have to maintain two cell phone numbers. The only option is to buy another phone at Verizon. Or to switch to another carrier and get a free phone with bluetooth. I'm thinking I'd like to stay with Verizon thought! Best coverage.
You can buy the HCB-30 car kit for your TL. That would take care of the bluetooth in the car. I'm picking up a P900 as well but I need it for small PDA functions, not so much for utilizing bluetooth audio feature. I will slowly migrate to the S700 when it comes out. That phone will be cool.

I too was interested in Verizon based on their coverage in CA and elsewhere. I e-mailed them and asked them about the new phone i have been hearing about that is supposed to be offered by Verizon. Sadly this was their response:
We appreciate your interest in the incorporation of Bluetooth
Technology with Verizon Wireless services. At this time we do not offer
products to support this technology. However, our Research and Development
Team has been studying the ability to incorporate Bluetooth technology
with our products and services.
Anyone else here anything any different? One would think if they were close to the release of a new phone they would have mentioned it?

i dont have any idea how an hcb-30 works. can you give me a brief understanding on how it works. using the p900 and the 04 tl as your example? thanks in adavnce. also i saw the hcb-300 listed as coming soon. is this the same thing but with newer technology and more features?
also, what is that dc600 adapter? would that work with my p900? where does the 1/8inch end plus into? is this something i should look into and would it be better or worse than the hcb?

HCB-30 is the older model of the HCB-300. It's just a bluetooth car kit where you could use the P900 with it. I'm picking up my P900 in a couple weeks...I will use it probably until the end of the year when I pick up my TL.

After searching everywhere on the net and making a few phone calls, the Motorola DC600 will not work in the TL, I had just bought a V400 a month before I bought my TL and wanted to use the feature but my cheap butt wont buy another $250 phone to get it. I anybody has any other information other than this please let me know. By the way, Motorola says it will work, Acura says it definitely will NOT....
will the DC600 work with the V810 in regards to letting me transfer ringtones and pics from my pc to my phone or is this something that US Cellular has blocked? Anyone with this experience please let me know.
thanks

I had an LG VX6000 and loved how easy it was to use. I had an earpiece (very uncomfortable) for the phone thinking it would be no problem not to have Bluetooth. Last Thursday was when I had enough. Everybody kept calling me, and I was tired of putting the earpiece on and taking it off only to put it back on for another call. Shifting with the six speed and reaching over to grab the earpiece was no fun. So I ordered the only Bluetooth phone available for Verizon, the Moto V710. I just got it today at work, I’m gonna pair it to the car after I get out. I know this will be a better solution to the earpiece. So we’ll see how I like it.
If you're going to buy something... Just wait a little for rebates and offers and just get the Bluetooth phone... Why get an add-on or converter? I know they work and the like... My phone ended up being $140 all said and done and I got a BAD DEAL... There's others in the sub 100 range.
If you wait for the perfect phone (good build, small, etc, etc....) you'll never get one. They make millions of them and they aren't built like KitcheAid mixers unfortuneatly.
