I am getting ready to order either the usaspec PA11-HON2 or the Blitzsafe HON/M-LINK1V.2X today and I need one last opinion.

I want to be able to have a solution that will allow me to control my ipod from the ipod itself. I want it to charge the ipod and have easy installation (just plugging something in, no splicing anything!!). I want the cord to be long enough for me to be able to reach it and adjust songs accordingly(I remember reading one has a really short cord). I have no need for XM or another aux out/input!

So if this is all I want which one of these should I get? I found a link that discussed pros and cons on these, but when I went back to look for it I could not find it. I'm looking to order it toady, so thanks guys!

I ordered the Blitzsafe HON/M-LINK1V.2X from discountcarstereo.com. took it to one of the blitzsafe dealers in the Bay area. They installed it, th eproblem was it was charging the ipod but was not playing the music from the ipod. I am not sure what th eproblem is. planning to take it to a anothe rmechanic today. Let me know when you are done with the install. I have a 04 Acura TL Navi. What year is yours.

 

I went to school there (2 years ago).. so I am not too far from you. Lets just say my favorite eating area is Convoy. Ha haa.

 

Its an 04 also...hopefully I don't run into problems also. Atleast it comes with a 1 year warranty from discountcarstereo.com , I ordered the hon/m-link1v.2 I don't care about the XM so I got the non-x version. I read in your thread that the pins were bent, that might be the cause for you.

 

Not sure what convoy (street in kearney mesa?) is I just moved here to san diego 6 months ago from indiana. I live in the utc across from the mall

 

The pins were bent? no that was not the cause. The pins were in shape. Anyways when are you planing to do the install. The Blitzsafe guy suggested to go for the nonx version if the x version was not working. I guess I will order that if the xversion does not function when I take to another mechanic to do the install again.

 

I'm actually getting it installed for free!! My cd changer went out and the dealership is changing it out next monday for me.....so I asked if they could plug the blitzsafe in while they had the HU out and they said yes.

 

Thanks a lot for your inputs. I got the Blitzsafe HON/M-LINK1V.2X installed by a indian mechanic who was ref to me by my friend. That guy was cool. he did not even charge me anything for installation. But it works good. Did not drill any holes.

 

You will soon find out about Convoy. That area is filled with restaurants, computer stores, mechanics, and a few popular boba tea hangout places for college folks.

So which dealership are you having your car serviced at? Kearny Mesa Acura? Did you buy the car from them? Tell me how their service is for you.

I didn't buy my TL from them, but it would be nice if I can trust them in servicing it in the future.

 

Hum I'll ask around......I don't go out around here much. I normally go downtown or PB. I bought through Ball Acura down in National City. They just gave me an offer I couldn't say no to. And the service there is excellent. My service soo far has ben excellent! They are even installing my blitzsafe for free when I get it. On top of that I recieved a Marathon gas card for $300 and they paid my insurance for 2 months....and I got the car at $3000 below KBB, and that was KBB for a normal TL and mine is an A-spec. I would definately suggest heading down there. They even put a clearbra on my car for free.
