Need info on stock stereo upgrades...

So I bought my 04 TL (with NAV) about two weeks ago and it came with some stereo mods already installed. Thing is, its far from perfect, and things need to change. Whoever did the previous install didn't do it right the first time.

So what I have is a stock stereo front and back, except for a Directed Audio Xtreme 4600X amp, and a DA Xtreme 1800X amp. I already bought a couple Kicker CVR 10's in a box to run off the 1800X (mono block 800W), only to discover that I should really be using a 1000W amp for these (bad sub recommendation to match to my amp)... so that's one thing on the list to fix when the money is there.

But for the other speakers, this is where it could get interesting. FIRST, can someone please list all 8 speakers and their sizes that are installed in the stock stereo. That would be awesome, just to start. Next, my Xtreme 4600X is, surprise, a 4 channel 600W amp, with 4x 75W RMS @ 2ohms; 2x 150W RMS @ 4ohms, 2x 50W RMS @ 4 ohms (I don't plan on running 4ohm speakers unless recommended).

So as is, my stereo was cutting out on random occasions only leaving my front center speaker on, but at very low volume, maybe lasting 10-30 seconds. Once I got my subs hooked up I realized it was the 4600X that was cutting out, because my subs were still going as normal. Now I realize that its likely due to the amp overpowering the stock speakers, and hence the first owner not getting this system set up right the first time.

So, assuming I want to keep the 4600X, what speakers should I replace in the car, what do you recommend I replace them with, and how should I configure everything so that all my speakers are happy and producing gloriously beautiful music??? The wiring for the 4600X is already in place, I just don't know yet what is wired where/how... I assume, however, that the previous owner somehow got the fronts, rears, and tweets all wired into the 4600X... as only the front center speaker was still making sounds when the amp cut out. This makes me think its all funky once I take the covers off... Also, should I plan on running any speakers off the stock amp? If yes, how would that figure into what speakers I buy to run off it?

Anyway, I want clear music... sound quality is a must! At the same time, I want to be able to turn the b!tch up loud and still have clear music! So what do you all recommend?? And ask whatever questions you want, and I'll do my best to produce the best answers I can.

Thanks!

Center - 3.5"
Tweeters (grill cut out size) - 2.45"
Midbass (Doors/Rear deck) 6.25"
Subwoofer - 8"

I'm thinking the reason why the center channel works fine because it's still hooked up to the stock amp and the stock amp was bypassed using a line output converter (LOC) for the aftermarket amps.

This has been talked about numerous times. Try to use the search feature.
