Custom Fabrication

Hello all!

With the help of mmade22 and other excellent people on this forum I was able to install Dom's Nav2go along with the peripheral unit and the harness for XM.

However, I have currently zip-tied my DVD player to the navigation DVD player. I removed the stock piece of plastic in the trunk so that the DVD player will fit, however I am looking to either build a piece of send it out so that it looks factory.

So, right now I'm asking for tips about how to go about this. I'll post some pictures later, but what I did was remove the staples from the bottom piece of the passenger side wheel well padding in the trunk. I was going to take the piece I removed, create a piece of fiberglass by lining the old piece with fiberglass cloth (minus the top) and going from there. I also considered using a very thin type of wood and creating a box like structure.

Any suggestions are welcome. One thing that I tried looking for at AC Moore that they didn't have was a matching felt or interior color. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I really, really like this idea. I like it so much that I'll probably do this.

Thanks so much! Other ideas were good too... however, I want it so that the interior is as stock looking as possible, and mounting it on the ski pass is perfect. I'll post pictures when I get to it =)

Why not mount it in the cubby hole under the radio? Seem pretty stock to me once you close the lid.

True, however I did the wiring already and don't want to bring the wires to the front... also, I like having functionality of all the storage in the cabin. I did think about this, but ultimately I decided against it.
