It's very easy. All you need is a phillips screwdriver and a small pick. You will have the door panel off in less than 10 minutes.

Here's a link to another thread that may help you.

Tip: Be careful removing/installing the rubber grommet at the rear of the door panel. It may start to spin when you remove or install it. If this happens, place a flat head screwdriver behind the panel and press on the spinning anchor in the door behind the panel.

I also used the DIY that Trew listed, I installed the window roll up module so I needed to take the door panel off. Took less than 10 mins, EASY! GL

With the rubber grommet, I found turning the screw really slow helped. GL.

I've removed the door panels so much... I now blow on the screws and they come out... takes me less than 2 minutes to remove... but 1 minute is used up on the screw with the rubber grommet...

why dont you just unplug the transmission sensor but the only down fall is you wont be able to tell how fast you going but if stops you from putting miles on the odometer. The computer wont be able to log any information if there is no signal going to it.
