Need help with DVD navigation unit part number

Hey guys, I been having issues with my GPS navigation unit, my navi intermittently restarts randomly, I called alpine service center to get a repair quote, but I don't have the part number since it's been way to cold to remove the unit, they need the part number before they can give me a quote, does any of u know the part number to the dvd unit in the trunk for a 2006 acura tl Mt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The actual DVD drive part, within the DVD box (if that makes sense) is: DV36T02

I just bought this:
DV36T02C/DV36T02A/DV36T02B/DV36T020 Alpine DVD Navigation-in Vehicle GPS from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

I believe that's the part number you need. The part number for the 07-08 TL DVD drive is different.

Here's the thing though- you can send your unit to Alpine, but I believe you'll be paying $380ish plus shipping. You are guaranteed to have your unit fixed though. I went the cheaper route and just bought the mechanism (there's a separate PC Card board in the DVD box, which I'm assuming is okay. I don't even think it is possible to use it, in fact. However, there's no guarantee that doing the cheaper route will work. I think it's about a 90-95% chance of working. Pretty good, but not guaranteed.

Let us know what Alpine is charging you!

It seems like I have a similar issue that just started yesterday. I have a 2006 Tl; do you know how difficult it is to remove the unit to send to Alpine? Thanks in advance.

I watched the removal video on YouTube, it seems quite simple, you just removed part of the inner truck lining in the corner where the dvd drive is and there's about 6-8 screwed to remove after you unplug the cables.

Yup. You don't even need any tools, if I recall correctly

yea id also like to know if this worked for you, mine gets stuck in the start up loop, or restarts on its own....sometimes it works fine and sometimes it acts up..

How complicated is it to install this part?
