Need a good Installer in SoCal

Anyone know of a good shop to install my Nav conversion module, PS2, and FM modulator? I live in the OC.

I hear there's a decent place in long beach. But you need to hand over your first born son. plus tax.

I would also be interested to know if anyone has had experience with any of the places in socal. I'd be willing to drive a couple of hours if I know they will do a good, clean job...

I went into Al & Ed's autosound last weekend and the guy really like my car. I showed him the HFL and nav system and he thought it was the coolest thing. I then realized that he had never worked on a new TL before.

I'd really like a recommendation for someone in the area that is familiar with the new TL's and how to install a backup cam.

Anyone?

Anyone?

Yeah, I wouldn't take it to an AlEds. I took it and same thing,,,guy liked it but didn't do an install on a 3g tl before. He was offering me to leave it for one day so they can figure out how they would go about installing it, but they were going to charge for labor for the entire time it took to figure it out. That along with the fact they had no experience doing a tl before. Therefore, I just said thanks but no thanks and went on my way.

I'll try to check out that place in Anaheim, thanks Msnowdon. Anyone else know about that place in long beach?

Beach Autosound in Huntington Beach... Great guys Talk to Tom. Tell him Jim Hayes sent you in. I would go with these guys first.

Advanced Car creations in Garden Grove. Have only been in there once but the really seem to know what they are talking about. I spoke to Twan.

Good Luck!!

I called up Beach Autosound and they told me FM modulator was the only option for getting audio in. I was hoping to get a line input by tapping into the XM line.

Anyone get a better response?

Thanks,
Bryan

I went into Speaker Works today in Orange (Thanks for the referral). They seem like a reputable place with a knowledgeable staff. I talked with one of the owners for awhile. I sent him a bunch of information on what I am trying to do WRT my backup camera and DVD install.

He is supposed to get back to me with an estimate. I will keep you posted.

They do great work, I have had my DVD system in my Denali XL for about a year and half without a problem.

There work is clean and worth the extra bucks.

Keep us posted.

We are still discussing price. His first quote was for $1100.
I priced out the components separately if I were to just purchase the DVD player, the backup camera and the FM modulator and the total is under $500. I'm not sure why his quote came back so high. He might have priced a more expensive backup camera.

I agree that it is worth the extra bucks to have something done clean and right, but $600 seems a bit high.

He is supposed to get back to me with clarification on the price. I will post more when I hear back from him.

OK,

I got an email back. If I purchase all the parts separately, the cost to install a License plate frame camera, a dvd player in the glovebox, an FM in line module, and the Navi video converter is $620 with no warranties on the parts.

Thoughts?

Hmmm...for clarification, are YOU are buying all the parts and they are just charging you $620 for the cost of labor to do the install?

Or in your previous post it sounds like he was giving you a quote on the products and installation, and it came out to $1100 installed, which I assume means he is including the price of him supplying the products as well as the labor.

Speakerworks os one of the most reputable car streo shops in the world... the Buick Regal (Richard Clark's)they did won every car stereo competiton in the US for years with only 5 speakers. Eric Holdaway writes for Car Audio and Electronics magazine as one of the reviewers. You can't go wrong if you spend the cashish..... When I worked for Super Street I was very close to the guys at Car Audio magazine.

To clarify,

I would have to buy all the parts separately. $620 is just for the labor.
