Need a bluetooth phone..
After buying my TL last weekend, I am itching to get a bluetooth cell phone, but Sprint doesn't seem to offer any. The down payment on the car pretty much broke me, so if you guys know of sweet deals on a some good BT phones, please let me know. So far I found a decent deal and the Motorola V600: $200 for the phone w/ a $200 rebate (but you have wait three months before you can even submit the rebate). How about you guys?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
I got the brand new Sony Ericsson T637 with Cingular for $149 less $200 in rebates from Amazon so your net cost is -$50.
The $50 rebate from Cingular you can submit right away and the $150 Amazon rebate requires the original invoice (which I already have) and the copy of my first month's bill, which I should have soon.
Unlike the V600 it works pefectly with the HFL in the TL.

i use the siemens s56 from cingular. works good with HFL but outside the TL it sucks. buttons too small and interface is crap. so if you're like me who has another cell phone and just wants a stupid phone to use with HFL in the TL then go for it. i got for $20 but this was 2 months ago. dunno what kind of promos they have going right now.
also check Staples and Office Depot. they carry phones and usually discount them like crazy when new models are coming in.

I don't know of any "good deals," but I would definitely suggest the Motorola V600 through either AT&T or Cingular. It works perfectly with the TL HFL and it even has a shortcut to turn the BlueTooth power off when you're not in the car (to preserve the battery power). I'm not sure if there is a BestBuy in your area, but they have the phone for cheaper that the AT&T website. I have AT&T, but Cingular offers the phone for a cheaper price. Just a suggestion!
As far as problems associated with using the V600, I have had none. However, if someone else is aware of problems that occur, let me know. I may be overlooking something.

As for phones though, since you're in the DFW area, here is a list of phones that I have had very good luck with T-Mobile.* Sony Ericsson P800/P900 (will not work with HFL though)
* Sony Ericsson T610/T616/T630/T637/K700 (all paired up perfect)
* Nokia 6310i, Nokia 6820, 3650/6600 (had problems at first but fixed)
* Motorola V525/V600 (solid phone with slight quarks but the everyday user will not notice them)
Those are the phones I have experience with dealer/friend's TLs.
Now why don't I choose Cingular over T-Mobile in DFW? Cingular is strictly 850mhz in the DFW area and my sister has Cingular and she is having one heck of a time with her 6820 and it won't let her roam on T-Mobile or AT&T just yet. The V600 is a worthwhile experience.

... and btw, even if you had to pay the $150, it could save you a lot of heartache from staying with sprint.
