Navigation Replacement Question

I have an 04 TL Canadian version and the voltage regulator of my navigation is busted. I found an American version of the navigation (with the XM button) to replace my current one.
Does anyone know if it will work with the Canadian version of the TL or not? I am curious about the wiring of the navi and if the XM radio option will interfere and make it not applicable to the Canadian version of the navigation.

Cheers

what exactly got damaged and how? If you are talking about the radio and screen, its interchangeable with the canadian model, however the XM radio won't work since you don't have the antenna for it. If you are talking about the navi drive, it should be a direct fit as well.

Thanks for the reply csmeance.
My navigation keeps on flickering on and off when the car is turned on. However, the Navigation works fine when its not turned on and just switched on with one clicking turn of the key.
I took it to two mechanics and they said the voltage regulator of the Navigation is toast, which is also affecting other bulbs in the car, that's why I'm looking to change the whole navigation unit.
I'm not intending on using the XM feature, my only concern is that the sockets in the back of the American version of the navi wouldn't fit the Canadian version because of the XM feature. I don't want to buy it and not have it match.
