Unhappy Navigation buttons and screen not working

I've searched the posts and am not sure if it's the DVD unit in the trunk, or the up front system. Any ideas?

Here's what happens...
-LCD screen goes dark after Acura Navigation title is displayed, after starting the car
-Joystick with buttons on same row are dead
-Voice command buttons are dead although bluetooth buttons above are working
-radio and BT still work but I can't see the stations above

I have checked all fuses and disconnected the battery for 15 with no results.

Maybe I can buy a head unit or DVD unit on ebay and get it working or send it off to Alpine, whichever is cheaper.

What year is it? And have you tried taking it to a dealer (which could be a bad idea...hopefully not)

Have you looked at the disc? It could be the drive went bad and it trashed it. Seems to happen quite frequently.

Bluetooth and HFL are a different sub-system so it wouldn't be affected by navigation issues.

It's a 2004 TL. The disc is a little scratched but it's always been that way. Maybe I'll take it to the dealer to see if they can do a quick test.

I know it's been awhile but I forgot to update. I sent the DVD unit to Alpine with a check for about $158, they sent it back with a list of parts they replaced. I wish they replaced my DVD, oh well. Anyway I still have problems....(see video)

I have this issue as well! But mine starts happening after about 30 min to an hour of driving. I think it's a heat issue with the navi unit in the trunk.

It's driving me nuts!
