Navi Startup Screen --- DIM

Navi Startup Screen --- DIM
When you guys start your car with the headlights on...Is the startup screen dim? Even when I have MAX BRIGHT on when I shut the car off, it starts with a dim picture.
Once the PITA nag screen comes on it is bright again....

My car's screen is the same way. Someone in another thread explained that the Navi LCD screen has to basically warm up before brightening to normal.
You will experience the same dimness if you drive for a while after the nag screen shuts off, then boot up the navigation system-- the map will look dim for a few seconds before brightening (I usually drive in familiar areas and don't use the navigation on a daily basis).

I've noticed this too. It seems that it reads that the headlights are on immediately on start, but doesn't get to the "Max Brightness" information until it has booted up completely.
I have also noticed a definite warm-up time for the backlight. Probably a compromise for longevity and extreme temperature conditions that most LCD panels don't have to go through (-20 F in Michigan winters to 130 F in the Arizona sun)

Go into the setup and change the dimming setting to manual rather then auto so it will be bright even with the headlights on.
