Hey guys, on my 07 Type S, the screen froze the other day and the next time I turned it on, it looked like this.




What’s weird is that if I start the car in reverse, the camera pops up for a second or so and seems to be working.. but it quickly goes to this.

Also, I know it’s not just a bad display because when I push buttons it’s not beeping… it’s not like it’s just a broken screen and everything works.

So my question is, if I buy a used in dash oem unit on eBay, would that be a waste of time? I don’t know if the brains of the system are in that screen or if this is just the display?

any advice would be great

 

Your screen is fine. Its the DVD consle in the trunk.

I had the same happen on my Red Type-S. Ensure that you get the 4 digit code with your trunk DVD unit when you buy one.
