Navi Display setup question

On page three of the screen display setup, there are choices of display background colors (Amber, grey, red and blue). No matter what color we choose, we have the same blue border (radio screen) and black center with grey buttons. This does not seem to be 'normal'. Is it possible to change the colors?

It is a very subtle color change. Only the color on the text background changes (not the wallpaper)

It is VERY subtle so look carefully.

Speaking of navi display, I just noticed something for the first time last night: When the nav screen is showing the audio page instead, the HFL causes the screen to switch to a picture diagram of how to use the steering wheel controls for the HFL. It surprised me to get a phone call and have that screen come up.

Changing Radio Display Colors

I have the same question about changing the radio display colors. I have tried and tried to change the display to another color only to have it stay blue. Seems ridiculous to have the option to change the colors on the menu, and then not have it do a thing. Does anyone have a solution to this?

I was told by my ACURA dealer during my walk-through that this was an old option from the 2004 model. She said they didnt bother to remove the option from the 2005 NAVI system?? Why not??.... thats anyone's guess...

That's interesting. I have an '04 and there's no earthly way to change the colors. Sounds like a bull sh^& story you got. Thanks for the reply though. Anyone else have any ideas?

Maybe it's me.......am I that much of a Luddite that I can't get this #$%^#$^ thing to work? I really would appreciate any pics or maybe a slap to the head....anything to make me understand how it works. I have no trouble with anything else to do with this car and this is frustrating as hell!

It does work. It's just so freaking subtle that it is not worth it. The "Gray" looks like the "Blue" and the "Amber" and "Red" look almost identical.

Immediately after changing the color, hit "Audio" and look at the box that surrounds the touch buttons or the description area. This is the ONLY thing that changes color, and it is not much of a change.

Don't know why they wasted space with this option.

I'll give it a try..doesn't sound like the "change" is even worth the effort....I'm still pissed that with this "deluxe" sound system, it won't even show you the names of the CD tracks that are playing. Even my cheapo Pioneer in my other car does that. I guess that's the trade-off for the option of changing colors! Thanks to everyone who's keeping this thread going.....

ok i think if you go into the config/diag menu in Navi System, you may get what you want ... I vagely remember one of the screens to have options to change colors .

HOW??

ok press, Map + Menu + Cancel and keep it pressed for some time. and a new menu appears. be very carefull here, note down what you change before, just in case you have to bring it back.

good luck.

Thanks for the pics.....I do notice a subtle color change. It's more than I can get it to do. I'll keep trying. Thanks again! It's frustrating to say the least.
