Navi Conversion DVD DRIVE

I'm in the process of converting my 06 non nav Tl to navi. I have all of the parts except for the dvd drive in the trunk. I was wondering if a drive from an 05 RL would work in my TL since all of the drives are made by alpine and supposed to be somewhat interchangeable.
Any input would help regarding using another vehicles drive in my TL.
Thanks
Paul

nope, RL uses 4.xx version, TL uses 3.xx. Also the TL interface is touchscreen, RL is with the knob.

do you mean the navi conversion or adding a dvd player to the navi system so you can watch movies on it?

I guess it depends on which part of the warranty you are talking about. Adding a DVD player isn't going to void the warranty on the engine, but if something goes wrong with the audio system, you may have a fight on your hands.
