Too May Results Searching NAV PLEASE HELP

Too May Results Searching NAV PLEASE HELP
Everytime i search for a restaurant or so Nav results in too many results all over North America...i'd like to be able to just search within in home city or surrounding...how can i do that?? Sorry for the dumb questions...answers are appreciated.

1) set your Navi for your state (presumably BC is available)
2a) use Places/Categories/Restaurants/Name, OR
2b) try Places/Categories/Restaurants/Type of Food/Find by Distance

Thanks Will Y... I believe NAV is set to my location so that kinda confused me as well...Ill give a shot for find by distance...Everytime i do look for name... for eg yesterday to find a retaurant...it started showing me stuff for NYC..
