navi

Has anyone installed a factory navi unit in their 04 tl? They guy at my local acura parts counter said there was no way a factory unit can be installed. He claimed the wiring harness is different in my 04 non navi. Is that tru? Is having navi worth maybe selling my 04 for one that has navi. Is aftermarket navi the answer?

Yes, you can not add the factory navi to a non-navi TL. There is a lot of different wiring. If money is not a problem, I would buy a new one with navi. Otherwise, just go with an aftermarket system.

you wrong on this.... it can be done... its acctually not that expensive to do if your gonna do it yourself... theres a tsx that converted from a non navi to navi before... the tl navigation isnt that much more different then the tsx so if you know what your doing then go for it... a helms manual will b needed also..

It can be done but it will require at least three full days for a professional to do it. First off you need to purchase a new harness for the whole car aprox 2000 plus the navi with the brain and aprox 2,000 and then 24 hours labor another 2000 total 6000. Im sure you can just sell yours and get a new one. Go with the new Avic-N2 its good and only about $1700 installed more features and you can remove it and put it in your next car.
