Nav screen keeps restarting

Not sure what is going on here. It started all of a sudden. While driving and sometimes while at rest, im testing this as i sit in my car and type this, my nav system keeps restarting itself to the main turn on screen (acura symbol). Sometimes it will work fine for a few mins then it reboots itself.

I checked the wires in the trunk and everything appears tight. Followed the wires to the passenger kick panel and all the connections were tight. I did not check the back of the radio. At first i thought it was a loose connection, but as i am sitting in the car, the system has restarted itself 10 times and continues to do so.

Any ideas.. i searched for quite a while unsuccessfully. Could it be that i need a new front radio including the LCD screen?

Any thoughts?

thanks

E

It may be your battery. I remember when testing one of their cars when the Navi Kept cutting off when the salesman was trying to show me some features on the car. When I asked him what may have been the cause, he told me, its probably the battery. Just something to look into.

it's probably something to do with the fuse box in the Driver's side kick panel... check and see if it's the fuse that powers the navi unit.... the fuse is probably not making good contact... Let us know...

If it were the battery... then you'll also loss the radio and all the other electrical accessories inside the car...

I pulled out the Radio fuse this morning... it was in there tight and seemed to be perfect. As for the battery.. i am not losing my radio stations. Every couple times the nav screen reboots, it will ask me for the unlock code.. which almost seems like it is losing power somewhere...

I will go check the battery right now...

Is there an additional power line seperate for the NAV?

ok now the car is completely dead.... the battery still has that little green eye ... seems like something is drawing power and has drained my battery...

is this possible.. checked all the fuses... none are burnt even the ones under the hood...

check the service bulletins. i think this problem is mentioned in a bulletin.
my navy did this to me once when i was driving--that was a few days before the battery completely failed. needed a tow to the dealer and would not jump start..

sounds to me like a bad battery. you might want to have it checked.

It must be the battery. I had my car for 3 yrs and the battery just went dead couple weeks ago. Even the battery is dead, but it still shows that green dot..I use a volt meter and check..it's around 12 volt.but the car just won't start, just heard it keep clicking. I think the battery still has power, but just don't have enough cranking amp. I was able to jump start it..but then after 2 hrs of non stop drive...let it sit for 2 hrs...it's dead again. I then just went to Kragen and get myself a top of the line battery for around $89. pop it in...car starts instanly.

I have a 2011 Acura MDX the navigation display restarts every 6 seconds
the screen turns on show the satellite navigation system than goes to " In Line Diag " than restart takes about 6 seconds to reboot.
Map/guide menu and cancel does not work because the display reboots before 10 seconds, any help pease I am in Ottawa Canada anything cost way too much money to fix.
By the way my navigation does not have CD rom but a hard drive that's how to load the navigation cd
Thanks in advance
