Nav problem

Have 04 acura tl
navigation boots up an ok button pops up but cant press OK button.than goes to black screen. Radio works but cant see any presets or anything because screen dont work.
went to the rear DVD drive but wont eject disk. Dont know if I have one in there or not. Was working fine for months now just blank screen. Would it be the alpine drive that's bad?

also can I put a non nav screen inn Insted? Would it work?

Mine does that too in hot weather or now if I drive more than 20-30 minutes in the cold with the heater on so it is definitely heat related. When it is cold, it sometimes takes the system a while to boot up, then it works fine until it gets hot. I'm guessing there is an issue with the touch screen so I'm looking for a rebuilt one. They seem to pop up on craigslist from time to time for around $400.

I had that problem with screen rebooting. It's the unit in the trunk. Try to get one off ebay with code $200-350. If you can't find one with code at least get the vin # it came from. You can call Acura and get the code.

I think its related to the screen itself getting hot because none of the lower buttons work when its hot. Cools down and everything works again.

Good luck with that!

More often than not, Acura Client Services has shown to be about as helpful and useful as tits on a door. Getting a code for a 3G TL has proven to be a prime example!
