Alltel my area finally got a bluethooth! I'm thrilled. I paired my new phone in just a couple of minutes this morning. I so love it. I've had the car w/o this feature to use for over 6 months. Anyways, just wanted to report I have no battery or signal strenth in the mid screen BUT i DO get caller id there. That's so weird i don't know what feature i liked better having. I did try a T637 (don't do it) that showed battery and signal but the company just had NO towers that worked for me here. It was a total joke to use that phone it was alwful the phone sounded alwful what few times i got to use it but it would'nt show caller id.

Has there been a fix for our V710's yet? I did a search and the name superdave come up but what does he offer, how do it work and how do i find him?

In order to do any kind of upgrades within warranty guidelines, you will have to go to an alltel store and they will be able to do it for you. Your other option is to go through motorola to have them do an update on your phone. I read somewhere that there might be a class action lawsuit filed against Verizon for blocking some features of bluetooth, etc etc. The T637 is a great phone but if you don't get GSM coverage, it can be a pain. I shall do some searching for you. There are a couple offsite updates available for those semi-computer savvy people. keep this thread updated .

 

Just curious, when you say "i DO get caler id there", does that mean you see the phone number for the incoming call on the MID, or you see (a portion of) the name that you happen to have associated with the number in your V710 on the MID?

 

I get the number only but that makes me happy atleast i am seeing a portion of the id feature. The entire number will show up. Hope you have a great day.
