Music Link No Longer Working With IPOD

Anyone else having problems. I don't know if its because I recently updated my ITUNES, but the only thing that works is playlists and genre. Everything else like Artist and Album is off. It doesn't skip, it doesn't have problem loading. It just selects the wrong artist and album. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Keep in mind that the MusicLink requires that fancy software from Honda to function correctly. You'll want to reinstall that to fix it.

It could just be your iPod to. Try holding the Menu and middle button down for 10 sec and it resets the iPod but all of your music is still there.

I don't think its my IPOD. Everything works fine on my IPOD alone. It just stopped working when I updated my ITUNES software. I think that is the problem.

Okay, and what does that have to do with my problem? Let me be clear, I've had my car for over a year. I have had the music link the whole time. This is a new problem. Translation, this just started happening.

Because it formats the music in a certain way for the MusicLink to understand. Good idea, poor excution.

In the RDX and RL forums there are several threads talking about Honda/Acura ditching the Music Link because of problems. Dealerships were told to ship them back to wherehouse. Dealerships have recently been using aftermarket brand iPod adapters as "factory installed" options.

So no one has heard of this issue. Again basically everytime Artists and Albums are shuffled when I search through the Music Link. Everything works fine when my IPOD isn't hooked up. This just start happening this past week.

Well I figured it out. Luckly I have 2 PCs. It looks like only the 7.0 version of ITUNES is the last version that works. Everything works normal again.

That's awesome. You might be the only person that is aware of this. I think that most others would have yanked the adatper out and tossed it through their sunroof. Would you mind posting a thread that explains what you discovered?

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Yeah I had this same problem, also that the musiclink software didn't work on vista.

I emailed zapptech (the company that makes the software) and they said that in a recent itunes update that it sorts music differently... thus breaking the musiclink software...

Acura finally posted an updated version of musiclink on the website http://musiclink.acura.com

just go to downloads > tts software its version 1.5 right now which works with the latest itunes and vista

I had mentioned in another post that your "start-up" problem is rare. It happens to few newer Honda/Acura radio's. The radio sometimes fails to see that the iPod source is there. It happens with every "add-on" source, not just the Music Link. I'm wondering if the warranty will cover replacing the radio because of that issue.

Did you download the lastest version of itunes, and the latest version of the tts software on that webpage from my previous post? It's workin just fine on vista for me, since that latest version was posted on the musiclink site

I get a error message within a few minutes of scanning my Ipod using the latest version of musiclink. Well come to think of it, I'm getting the same error message on my work laptop that uses XP. And yes I have the latest version of both ITUNES and Musiclink. I'm hoping my home laptop still works fine with ITUNES version 7.0 using the Musiclink CD software that came with my car. One thing I've found, if you've downloaded a newer version of Itunes you can't uninstall and install an older version.
