MP3s off DVD-R?

I did a search on this topic, but it hasn't turned up any results, so I thought I'd ask.

My TL Audio System plays back MP3s off of CD-Rs just fine, but has anyone had any luck with MP3 playback off a DVD-R? I burned one that works fine on my PC, but it was ejected from the TL.

Thanks.

Unfortunately you can not play MP3's from a DVD on the TL. The only audio you can get from a dvd is in the DVD-Audio format.

What year is your TL? Mine is an 05' and doesn't play songs in MP3 format.

07+ TLs can play MP3 cds...there's no such thing as an MP3 DVD, so that's why you're TL spit it back out...it plays on your computer because your computer reads it as a data DVD with music files on it...

That's too bad. I was really looking forward to having my entire music collection on six DVDs. Oh well, thanks.

just burn six DVD-A discs...might take a lil longer than making six MP3 CDs, but well worth it...

You can fit 75-90 songs on a dvd in dvd-a format. Times 6 thats still 500-550 songs....I can't really complain about that....

Yes, but on DVD-A you are putting wav files, which are CD quality..

MP3s should remain on plain CDs, as you can fit just same as DVD-A, but in mp3 quality.

I can do MP3s on DVDs!!!! And when I figured out I could do it, it blew my mind!! 4.7G worth of MP3s! I can fit my entire music collection on a few DVD-Rs. I use RWs so I can burn what I need and update so I don't have 1000s of wasted and burned DVDs

I can go folder by folder put different genres....best of all I can see videos too! Even store-bought DVDs. Yeah I guess by now you figured out what I did:

Yeah, I was kind of hoping for support with the stock audio system.

Thanks though, that looks like a cool setup.

The MDX's sound system can play MP3 files on burned DVDs. For some reason, Acura decided not to give the '07/08 TL's sound system this feature (only CD-Rs).
