Anyone with Rogers have the V551 Motorola? I can not get the Call Display to work. If anyone from the Rogers network has the call display working, can you please let me know what firmware you are using...

Do you know where we could get your verison of firmware? How would one go about installing in on the phone?

The firmware for the V551 is floating around on the internet, but flexing and flashing your phone is not a good idea if you're not sure about the source of the file or if you've never done it before. You could turn your phone into a brick.

You'll also need the data cable to flash / flex.

I have the V551 and the only info I get on the MID is signal strength....No call display....the 1 and only time i got the call display to show up was when my phone roam'ed onto the FIDO network. I looked at my phone and instead of saying ROGERS it said FIDO and the call display worked......its weird and i don't know y the carrier would make a difference???

 

Yeah, it works for me. I have an '04 TL. It works when my phone is on the Rogers or Fido (Rogers) networks.

Does anybody know if there is different s/w versions of HFL in our Tls?

 

I dropped into a Rogers store and they had no answers for me. The guy I spoke with said to either call Acura or Motorola. Good help he was....

 

I called Rogers today and they said I was running the latest code. So they gave me the number of Motorola Canada. I called Motorola Canada, and they directed me to Motorola USA. After waiting a half hour on the phone, Motorola USA directed me back to Motorola Canada. Pretty much everyone was pointing the finger at someone else. The lack of help from both companies is really pissing me off. Finally after getting pissed with the Motorola guy, he gave me a cellular place to try and get a different s/w version that would hopefully fix my problem.
