usually low hissing noises just come from the RCA's you're using. anything from low quality RCA's, low voltage signal in RCA's and wire placement can make that noise. If you were using the factory head unit, then more than likely you were using an RCA converter which just hooks up to your speaker wires creating an RCA signal or the one that comes with the amp. It wont be a perfect connection and signal will not be perfect so you can expect that low hiss.

Higher quality parts and a new after market radio with high voltage RCA outputs are usually the best solution.

I am having this in my OEM ELS system in my 08 Base TL! I also noticed the hissing got worse as the really cold weather of the winter came on; it is the worse at cold start when the audio first turns when you don't hear anything and then when the XM comes on you don't hear the hiss over the radio playing; it gets a little bit better when the car warms up but you can still hear it a tiny bit often on between songs on the XM!

brought it into the Acura dealer a few months ago and basically told me that its a by-product of the system and that cold weather does make it worse; should lessen as the spring and summer come! told me I'll just have to live with it! its only really noticeable at cold start-up so I will live with it; only thing they said they could do is rip out and replace the entire audio system but I can't see doing that; dealership would probably make things worse by replacing it and right now the low hiss is the only issue; the rest of the audio, sound, etc works great throughout the car!
