Looking for Navigation Serial #

Does anyone know or have a DIY to get the Navigation Serial # that is located on the control unit DvD console ? I don't have the card that has the code on it.

Im gen2 and the drive unit is in the trunk- you remove it and serial number is on top
there is a fake one on the side~..are you the same?

for your security code look in the owner book..some salemen or owners write it there or on salesmans card, also check places for a handwritten or small sticker- like edge of glovebox door, under cup holder, under fuse panel cover in engine compartment.
look everywhere!
Some years came with tag attached under a fuse cover

ok I had this same problem

If you go to http://owners.acura.com you can make an account, enter some of your info and this site will give you the NAVI AND RADIO CODES NOT SERIAL #'S!!
However in order to get these codes you will need your serial numbers for your nav and or radio. Im assuming this is why the OP needs this info.

If you take your trunk liner out you will have access to your DVD drive. There are 4 screws that hold it in. Take the 4 screws out, remove the DVD drive, flip it over and you should see a small white sticker. Your serial # for navi is on that sticker.
I forget how many letters/numbers it is but i think I remember it started and ended with a letter. There is more than one sticker on the unit so be sure to write down all the info you see. I took a pic of mine lol.
Oh and dont forget to unplug the DVD drive before you remove it

05 TL w/Nav, just got the serial # for the radio by :-

1. Ignition key to accessory pos.
2. Power off radio
3. Hold down the "1" and "6" keys
4. Power on radio with 1 and 6 held down
5. Make a note of the Uxxxx and Lxxxx numbers, the 8 x's make up your S/N for the radio

Got the serial # for the Navi

1. Remove right side trunk liner, 5 x screw-in black bolts (cargo net fixings?) and 1 push-in plug near right-side rear light.
2. Unplug 5 connectors at rear of unit
3. Remove 4 screws that hold mounting bracket to the trunk floor
4. Flip unit over and make note of the serial #, mine was 3 letters followed by 8 digits.

Go to owners.acura.com and click on "Get radio/navi codes", enter your VIN, ZIP, Telephone # and the two serial number from above, the website will generate your unlock codes for you.

Radio code is entered using the radio preset buttons (1 - 6)

Navi code is entered on the Navi Touch Screen.

Job's a good 'un.

I just got my 06 TL yesterday and the dealer bought it from was not an Acura dealer. I didn't get owner's manual or anything. I was looking for a sticker with the serial number everywhere but no luck. I called Acura dealer in my town and asked them for the code and I only gave them my vin#, but since I didnt buy it at that specific dealership they said they dont have it on file and I would have to come in. That got me thinking and I asked the guy to tell me at what Acura dealer was my car originally sold. He gave me the name , I googled it and called the dealer (in CA) and all they needed was last 8 digits of my vin and I got both the radio and nav codes

Sorry for the bump.

I have the same problem for my 05 TL.

Before I take apart my trunk dvd unit to get the nav serial number, is there anything I should be careful of so I don't break anything?

What the heck does that mean???!!
NOT HELPFUL
You can't easily remove it, I couldn't and contacted and then drove to a local honda dealer who's service advisor couldn't figure it out either, (Acura dealer is 1 1/2 hrs round trip away but does it for you, all for $75 buck and a required appmt, no thanks)
somehow you have to remove the whole trunk liner it seems - doesn't sound like much fun, unless you like cleaning out your trunk! ...ah, who stores anything in there anyway, it s/b perfectly clean and clear to begin with right? - NOPE

Unfortunately no-one listed it anywhere in our car's case. Our 2004 acura had the alternator changed (twice in a row in fact, the first one was defective and left us stranded in traffic the day we picked up the car, no fault of anyone but the part mfr) and the resetting of our radio and "Navi" took longer than the two replacements and two towings! (one home, the next to back to the shop the next day when they opened)

The radio Serial number which is required to get the reset code can be gotten w/ a simple interface w/ the radio: I believe it was something like : hold the '1' and '6' presets and toggle the power off then on and it shows in the clock display. Now you got radio. But for the "Navi" code, plan on removing the unit in the trunk which after more than 3 - 4 hrs of searching and calling we never were able to do and finally caled the good people at Acura in Torrance CA, who still initially told us to remove this hard to figure out hot to remove unit an read its serial number. It's not evident how to get the trunk liner off of it, after that, presumably there's just some screws. Never got that far.

finally they contacted the original dealer and got the number. It shouldn't be thais hard. well over 7 hrs to get these two systems back up and workig after a simple battery disconnect. Yahoo!? ...NOPE

This site STILL won't help you a bit w/out that serial # from the Navi unit which is near impossible to get. The only Way to get it is to (somehow) remove the Navi unit and then it's said the its Serial number is on: the side; the bottom; the top. I'm sure it's there somewhere, but as a VERY mechanical DIY're guy, I couldn't get to the unit. - Maybe I just wasn't in the mood to fill our sloping driveway with the little bit of our daughter's belongings and watch out for items rolling way into the street, etc. while I endeavored; perhaps just fetcing a box woulld have made the task more appeaing, but still:
HAS ANYONE A SUGGESTION FOR GETTING TO THIS UNIt? -- just incase we need to access it in the future. It seems to be held down by thses black wood screw thread 'hold-down', that requite extremely laborious hand cranking to remove ( I took 2 off and couldn't believe how many turns it took

Perhaps, but you do have to know the original dealership. In many cases (ours for sure) that might not be known. We bought our car used from a broker and during this search, thought we were lucky to find the previous owners contact info from an errant alignment receipt left in the car. Turns out he also didn't have the codes, - bought the car used himself at 30,000 miles.
We bought at 137,000, I can't believe he never ran into the issue; guess he had service at dealerships who had inside info?

Now here's the first post that tells it like it is: no matter what, you need the serial # off the , no off YOUR actual unit.
My hat's off to you CarrieLynn, I couldn't figure out how to remove that trunk liner,

NOPE, calling the dealer got me this explanation: You need to bring the car in, that requires an appm't, and the fee is $75 for a mechanic to stop and look it up. ( couldn't a Service advisor just look it up for me I initially thought). Being that this dealership is at least 45 min. away, that's a 90 min round trip. and if I get stuck in traffic, what happens then, and how long would I be there? Oh well, who needs to work anyway, I should plan a half a day off for this (I don't for dental appointments, so why not for this). Anyway, calling the local dealer DID NOt work, (turns out knowing the orig'l dlr would have but the car was bout in New England, we live on the West Coast, and don't know who that ori'l dlr was...
Thx anyway
