LOC wiring problems

This is a long post, and i know this topic has been discussed many times, but i couldn't find an answer to my question:

Ok, so about a month ago i went out and bought a LOC. It sat for a while, then this weekend i decided i would take a stab at hooking everything up. The aftermarket amp is wired just like it's supposed to be, so that's no the problem. The problem i'm having is with the LOC.

Here's what i did: clipped the factory subwoofer wires right at the harness. Took the positive and negative wires and plugged them into one of the inputs on the LOC.
here's the LOC i bought: http://www.pie.net/pie_store/shopexd.asp?id=178&bc=no

After the LOC, i plugged in an RCA cable (just one, since it's only coming out of one speaker) then did a Y-Splitter to take the one RCA into two RCA's for my amp. And got nothing. I tried all different inputs/ adjusted all knobs, etc. I've got nothing from the sub.

Any ideas? What am i doing wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
