LG Chocolate - MERGED
get it and try it... if it doesn't then return it within 15 days
I would do it myself, but I was turned off by the lack of speakerphone, lack of camera flash, and the touch/heat (hyper-)sensitive keys.
edit: and rumors of bad reception...

Hey RjS,
Does it play Music though the Bluetooth? I saw it said stereo bluetooth interface for the music. Would be very cool to listen to the music on the phone though the TL bluetooth connection.
Thanks, sorry for hijack, but Im insterested too.

Sorry Motorola fans, I'm going with LG.
Oh, BTW. Did you know LG is the primary manufacture of cell tower technology for the wireless industry. When I was testing data connections back then LG devices were the most stable.
I'm pretty sure Sprint, Cingular, and Verizon uses LG towers, basestations, and software. I use to do consulting for cell companies. Things could have changed, but probably not.

I'm having a major problem pairing my newly bought LG Chocolate (not verizon-kind). The HFL has some issues after the phone is paired with the initial setup; when I say what I want to call it - it just disconnects. Anyone have a chocolate and is having the same problem?
I know my boyfriend had problems with his some of his sony ericsson phones and we both have the same car (05 TL).
Now I tried a couple times....and then after awhile - it wouldn't even pair up and find the phone or vice versa.
I know I cant be the only person with this problem! Any suggestions?

Not all Bluetooth phones work with our HFL in our TL's.
For example, the LG Chocolate is not yet approved by Acura as being compatible and they (Acura) are currently testing that model.
See here for more info on testing, pairing and the phones compatible:

However, I managed to pair the phone with my TL, but I'm not able to dial out and then at times it just wont even recognize that the phone is even there.
Thanks for the website though - it's very handy.
I'm just hoping and praying that out of a bunch of us TL drivers....someone owns the import chocolate.

I'm getting frustrated so if anyone could offer some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. I have two weeks to return the phone if no solution is found. On www.handsfreelink.com (Acura's HFL site), it lists the Verizon LG Chocolate as the most compatable phone with my 2005 TL....
I opted out and sold my LG chocolate and got a samsung sgh-d900. The sucker works like a charm. No battery or signal, but it's nice to have a truly nice import phone (that not many people have) that actually works with the cars.
Good luck on your problem.

I replaced my broken motorola with the Verizon LG white chocolate (the white chocolate matches my 05 WDP TL hehehe LOL) about 2 weeks ago. No problems pairing it. Followed the instructions in the Acura manual, paired up the first time. Everything works fine, battery, signal, etc. No music since I already have an ipod in the car.
My contract expires in Feb., so I'll be getting a new phone and was looking at the Choc. Why the differences in pairing issues? I thought it had the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval from both Verizon and Acura

Black and Bluetooth
So it turns out, my Bluetooth module was bad. I took it to the dealer in Marina and they replaced it right away. I had my Verizon LG Chocolate paired the minute I got back in my car this afternoon and it worked flawlessly. Battery signal, signal strength and caller id were the first things I noticed when making a call from the car. I'm just starting to program my phone numbers in there. For those of you interested in the Chocolate, it's been in my pocket for a week now and I love it. Just my

I have a car kit that will definitely work, but what I would like to know is 1st: Have you succeeded at streaming stereo through bluetooth? 2nd: Do you know the class of the bluetooth receiver in the '04?
Thanks for the info!

It seems like this is a pretty common problem for canadians and I was wondering if any of you have fixed this problem.
p.s. I bought the phone used so i can't return it
for all you people that are having trouble pairing your phone...
the KG800 is the european unlocked version of the chocolate...IT WILL NOT PAIR WITH HFL
the KG8500 is the verizon locked version of the chocolate...no personal experience but IT DOES PAIR WITH THE HFL
the way to tell if your phone is the unlocked version or the verizon version is if your chocolate has a verizon logo on it, its the verizon phone...if it doesnt have the verizon logo, its the unlocked phone and it wont work with HFL
hope that helps

well, I have the TG800 (Canadian version - GSM) and it does pair with HFL. However, it continually disconnects and reconnects every 5-10 seconds. So has anyone figured out how to solve this problem yet?
I dont know how it works in Canada or if it is different at all, but i have the VX8600 which is just the Flip-version of the Chocolat - exact same phone on the inside. It paired perfectly since day one and knock on wood has never dropped a call. Works Perfectly.
hi everyone. did some searching and found this thread....hopefully some knows and answer to my problem. i have the verizon chocolate and it paired fine with my 06 TL. i had no trouble setting it up following the manual. i have two problems with it:
1. on incoming calls, sometimes when i hit the "talk" button to pick up the phone, it makes the noise like it took the command, but my radio comes back on. when i look at my phone, the time counter is running so the call is actually connected but my radio is on and i can't hear the other person on the phone. sometimes the person calling can actually hear my radio but they cannot hear me talk. if i hit the "talk" button on the car all it does is wait for a command instead of picking up the call so the only thing i can do is hang up and call them back. this then leads me to problem number two.....
2. on outgoing calls, since the TL does not store the phonebook from the chocolate, i have to pick up my phone to dial out with my phonebook. half the time the car bluetooth will automatically take over for the call, and the other half the phone will transfer the connection back to itself so i have to actually talk on the phone. it's always a surprise where the call will end up, on the phone or on the car.
these problems happen randomly and though not all the time, it's enough to make my lazy ass search a forum for answers cause it annoys the crap out of me. of course on my last visit to the dealership for regular maintanence, i mentioned that to them and as i expected they said they tested it with their phone and everything was fine. what i'm trying to figure out is if this is a problem with the car or a problem with the bluetooth on the chocolate. i've had the chocolate for about 4 months and can't say that i would buy it again. it's a sweet looking phone but even i can't get the call waiting thing right with the touch sensitive buttons (and i consider myself somewhat gadget saavy) if anyone is having these problems or knows of a solution please let me know. i'd like to be able to duplicate the problem so i can take it in to the dealer. thank you!!
if i don't get any responses here i'll try starting a new post on this question.
