Left Rear Speaker Not Working

When I hit the SOUND button on the audio screen and change the balance all the way to the left, the only speaker that still works is the front left. Would that be the speaker, the wiring, or my radio? Anyone else ever have this problem?

That old OEM amp had all its capacitors replaced a couple of years ago and worked great since

check the signal from the amp, possibly could be another failed cap or opamp inside.

The speaker gradually comes back on when I center the balance. Make sense?

I'm thinking it's a bad amplifier or a IC inside the amp. Messing with balance controls the power going to each speaker....

The speaker works when the balance is equalized, so I'm gonna leave it for now.

Dam DMZ, You change have the caps changed instead of just buying a new OEM amp or the Aftermarket Phantom amp?

You go deep in the 3G!

Yes, I changed the Caps 2 years ago like everyone else did on here. Still a lot cheaper than buying a Phantom.

Solved!! It was the original speaker. I guess after 17 years and 342K miles, it had to be dried out. Now I'm wondering about the rear deck speakers, especially with the labor to get to them that's involved.

Time to get something decent in there, then you wont want the rear deck speakers anyhow.

Hear good things about the infinity 2 ohm speakers from a long time ago! Work with factory amp but they might sound a bit more "bright" than factory speakers.
