LED Strip Question

i bought a 9" led strip and want to straight wire it to the fuse panel on the driver side....so which fuse should i tap if i only want the led strip to come on when the doors are open? i would have guess the interior lights....but when i tried it would not turn off. and if this is not possible then the next best thing would be to come on only when i turn my headlights on.

also, i would like to add another led strip to the passenger side.....should i wire this one to the driver side fuse panel too or can i tap it from some where else.

tap into the interior light fuse, then lock the car and the strip should turn off.

well that is what i tried but it didnt work.....the led strip stays on all the time. i tried tapping into the ignition fuse so that it only comes on when the car is cranked (with my radar detector) but i tried it but i didnt like driving with the them on. any other ideas? and assuming i can get this to work should i wire the passenger led strip to the same fuse or is there another source some where else....like the glove box? the reason i ask is because they look pretty cool and i wouldnt mind putting 2 more in the back seat.....but dont know if i have to run all those wires to the fuse panel or can i tap in somewhere else.
