i have a pair of jl audio w3v3 10 inch. i know the w6 and w7 has a small logo at the bottom of the cone that says w6 or w7. but how come my w3 only says JL? anybody know?

I bought my W6s used (one month old) from a friend going through a hard time. Considering this guy's history I was worried when only one had the w6 logo on the cone.

Just pull them out of the box and look on the magnet. It's well worth the trouble for peace of mind. I learly ordered the logo once I confirmed it was real but my subs are completely enclosed in the box anyway.

 

i took the sub out of the box last night and it says 10 w3v3-4 and it has serial numbers and everything. i took it to my friend who is an authorized jl dealer and he confirmed they were real. and the newest models will only say "jl".

 

It is a newer manufacture date. The original w3v3s had the w3 logo similar to the w6v2 & w7. I first noticed the change to the "JL" badge instead in ~Spring of '10

 

I am curious what it looks like because all the other W3's I had seen had W3 logo. Can you post up a pic?

 

nothing to look at really. it just says jl. and i also put grills on the subs and its a bitch to take off.
