iSimple stopped working. "does not recognize accessory"

using 5s. does not work anymore on either aux1 or ipod mode. plugging adapter first into phone does not fix it (which has helped before it stopped working). so far i have disconnected the module and the battery and let it sit over night and still no fix. The problem started when someone plugged in their 4s.

I briefly looked into upgrading the firmware but the instructions are so vague. has anyone else had this issue or can give me details on how to update the firmware.

another thing i that before i disconnected it and let it sit over night, it said "BT" instead of AUX1. I was thinking it had to be bluetooth but this device doesnt have blue tooth. it is a few years old. I remember a few years back there was and IOS update and i had to get the chip upgraded in the isimple. I am very very confused.

You need to take the module apart and short out the leads to the large capacitor in the group of capacitors. That will reset the device
