iSimple Problem - 2007 TL Type-S

Ok, so I ordered this: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1116

and got it with the PGHHD2C harness since I have navigation. I took the trunk liner out on the passenger side and plugged the harness into the back of the Nav unit and then the stock cable into the harness. There is only one place it can plug into so I don't think there is a mistake there.

I then had dip switch number 2 flipped to the On position which is flipped down. What I'm getting at is I followed the instructions I got from the manf to a T...or at least I think I did.

The next step was to turn the ignition on and wait up to 3 minutes. When I turned the car on my screen started to flicker blue (shown in youtube link below). I didn't want to wait 3 minutes for fear of damage to my screen so I turned the car off.

During the flickering the navigation knob and screen were totally unresponsive. Anyone have any ideas?

BTW, the iSimple is on the latest firmware.

I don't know if it's different for an 07, but when I installed my Isimple, it was in the back of the radio. Maybe you plugged it in the wrong area.

Yes, the 07 has to be plugged in the nav module in the trunk because of the xm traffic.

First off DISCONNECT IT FROM THE NAV UNIT before you do damage to the radio and/or the module. This module is designed to plug into the factory XM tuner not the NAV unit (the plugs are the same). If you look in the trunk area on the passenger side with the trunk liner removed you will see the Nav unit. if you stick you head down there like your going to look at the back of the Nav unit and then turn your head to the left you will see the XM tuner (should have two harnesses and one antenna plug) thats where it plugs in. For easier access you can undo the 3 10mm bolts on the trunk brace to release the XM tuner from the backside of that brace.

Thanks,
TT

That helps a ton, thank you! I disconnected it right away after the flickering. Only took the video to show what was happening. I'll report back this weekend once I get a chance to try again.

Very quick support response...impressive actually!

That worked out. I was able to hide the isimple under the nav unit. Works very well so I'm already impressed. Thanks again for the quick help!
