Just wanted to confirm for people that had questions. It does work on the Canadian models. You don't need the xm button. You are able to access the isimple trough your steering wheel. Took about an hour to install very straight forward.

 

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that it was installed in an 04 tl. And yes the the text shows up on the screen.

 

Also have a Canadian version that I just installed the iSimple for. For the most part, it works absolutely great. Really should have done it earlier. That said, did have a couple questions for you:


Have you figured out a way to toggle between texts (e.g. Name/Title/Song/etc) on the smaller screen above the center console air vents where the cloke display is?

Also, have you tried making calls through bluetooth? Mine sounds horrible. The otherside comes out very quiet, and many times not very clear. Even when I turn up the volume considerably, I still have the same issue. Bluetooth audio sounds great though.

 

The bt works fine for me. As for text display use the 5 and 6 number keys to scroll thought folders. Hit the number 6 key to select the folder and then once again for the song

 

I'll be picking this up tomorrow and putting on my 04 TL...

 

Do you have navigation? I was wondering how it looks when you view the folder.. Does it completely remove the rest of the oem graphics?

Also, I read in the owners PDF manual, it says you can fast forward through a song on the USB. I have a GROM and it cannot fast forward, and it cannot display folder contents, and the firmware works sometimes and then sometimes it doesn't, with no changes to my system. I have been having a bunch of problems with their firmwire just playing the music! haha I'm really tired of it!

 

I had this on my tl for a year,but my car battery died and now the AUX wont work, the iphone 4 jack thingy works but not the aux.....
