Has anyone with an isimple tried using ios5 with the unit, either with an ipod 4s or upgraded older equipment. i have an ipod touch and don't want to upgrade the os or swap my blackberry for an iphone if the unit doesn't work. I spend too much time driving.

 

i have an iphone 4 and been running iOS 5 for about 5 months now and have no issues what so ever.

 

which isimple model would be best for a 08 tl type s that would allow for charging as well as dash control

 

iSim71 seems to be the favorite around here.

thats the one i have and if you dont mind installing it yourself they can be picked up for less then 50 bucks on amazon or ebay.

yeah the public release just came out 2 weeks ago but i have a Developer License for apple so i was able to get all the beta releases.

 

I have an iPhone 4S and the iSimple is not working well for me. The buttons do not always respond and the unit does not charge. my iPods still work fine so i know its not the unit. I have a Pioneer Unit in my 350z with the integrated iPod cable and that one charges up my iPhone 4s just fine.

I just emailed ISimple for support so we'll see what they say. The version i have is
ISHD71.

 

did you ever hear anything back? im just curious.

my girlfriend has the 4S and the iSimple in my car works fine with it as well as charging.

another thing to look into is make sure you have the latest firmware on the unit. You can download the software at this link.

Next, no, I only emailed them yesterday and haven't heard back from them.
I'm pretty sure i have the latest firmware but i will check again. Strange thing is when i used the iphone 4s in my car today it did charge and it worked better than it did the first 2 times. Not sure what happened but i'll keep an eye on it. Thanks again.
