Can someone recommend a reputable audio shop in NYC? I'd like to get an iSimple installed on my 3G TL.

Any best buy can install them, but why pay its super easy. Pull the side trim where the shifter is with a flat head screwdriver (magnetic type). One you do that you have access to the bolts to remove the radio and connect the Y harness. You can run the wires where ever you want.

 

But if you buy it from Best Buy free installation should come with it. The two I bought did.

 

I just called them yesterday and they said they won't sell just the product by itself(which is around $100-120). They said it would cost $200 dollars total. Not too impressed with Best But.

 

I purchased the iSimple from BestBuy this Sunday went yesterday to get it installed & the installer said that it might not work on my 08 TL-S. If it doesn't work BestBuy will refund me the $$$ back for the iSimple but I would lose $50 for install. After talking back & forth with the installer & the sales person who sold me the unit who I had asked to make sure it fit for my car before I purchased it, I just decided to get my $$$ back. So now I'm just go buy it from Crutchfield which is cheaper for me & do the install myself.

Very disappointed with BestBuy for saying I would lose the install $$$ if it doesn't work after I made sure the sales person made sure it worked 100%.

You can always buy off Amazon if you want to do a self-install. The Best Buy price of $200 you cite is not bad. I did a bad thing, I bought one on impulse at Car Toys, and it was a disaster. First, they overchaged me for the device it's self. Then they overcharged for installation (Just under $400 altogether). Then I had to take it back to them six, yes you read that right SIX times before it was finally installed right. When I told the store manager, he took off a big $30 off the price. Didn't even pay for my gas money.

I hate to admit how stupid I was, not shopping this purchase around before buying, but wanted to let folks know about my experience with Car Toys.

 

I bought mine off amazon for $50. There are some used ones on there for around that price right now. Don't pay over $100 for this. And install it yourself, it's easy.

 

is there a specific model number for our cars?also sound quality should be pretty good right?
