I've got one. Install was pretty easy just takes a lil while if you don't know the steps to taking the center console out. You just plug it into the back of your radio. I like that you can control it through the steering wheel buttons too. Do not buy it from best buy though, you can find it WAY cheaper on ebay or amazon.

How was your experience with Best Buy? I know they aren't the cheapest, but the install is free. Did they do good work with the TL? Where did you have them mount the iPod Dock cables?

Anyways, if you purchase online, where can you go to have it installed? I don't think I am capable of doing it at home.

look up yelp.com for some audio shops.

It's not too hard to install, just dedicate a few hours of the morning to do it.

iSimple is of my favorite mods to my TL to date though.

have them run the ipod wire through the center console into the arm rest compartment. There are little cut outs in the upper compartment tray to let a cable through. Acura thought ahead.

Best buy installed mine for free after purchase as well. Went pretty smoothly but I would probably reccommed a reputable car sound shop instead. Isimple is the best because it allows you to use the steering wheel controls to change the song and also displays the songs text info from the iPod in the exact same way the XM radio does. I have had my mine installed for over 2yrs without major issues. I had them run the wire into the glove compartment so I can leave my iPod locked up at all times.

I bought my '06 from the original owner, after he had iSimple installed with the cable in the glove box. Just used it for the first time with my son's iTouch. Worked great.

I installed the 71. Took a few hours.. but mostly because I went the more complicated route to try and pry off the harness without removing any of the center console. As difficult as it was, the fact that it was possible without needing to unscrew anything made it pretty easy on the whole.

Guys, I have an Isimple 73 installed and was wondering if any of you had issues with how loud the volume goes on your songs coming off the Isimple.

Mine doesnt get as loud as it should. Maybe 60% at full volume. Im trying to find a fix but havent found a solution.

Thanks.

This is could be one of two things.

1.) You have the Volume Limit or Sound check on. Fix this by going into settings, then into the Music portion.

2.) The music on your iTunes is streaming at a lower bit-rate. 26kbps is pretty standard. I use Spotify to stream my music and it streams at 320kbps, MUCH clearer, MUCH louder.

To check on iTunes what you're bit-rate is for a single song, right click on it and then hit get info. Hope this helps.

I guess I should have been more specific. I'm using an mp3 player but not an ipod (through the input. It plays very loudly on any stereo but not with the isimple. I have played music with an ipod on the isimple and have had the same issue.

I have a similar issue with my iSimple. The volume just isnt loud compared to the radio.

With the radio ill have it on 18, turn it on XM for my iPhone 4 and 32 is almost comparable, but its really flat. Not happy ;(

Is there an alternative or an upgraded model that does not have this problem?

I just went into iTunes with a certain album and upped the volume %75. I will see if that has any change. iTunes is capable of going up to %100 so, i also noticed my 3GS was louder than my 4. I will also be changing the port from 1 to 2 on the box its self if i don't see a change. If that doesn't work I'm going to look into the manual about the switch's.

I'll keep you updated.

I'm pretty sure the iPod connector has to be in port 1.
At least that's what the manual states.

Rog thanks, I'm not going to be messing with it so.

Its to the point to were 10 - 15 sounds like its on 3 - 4. But when i went into iTunes and upped the volume %100 the range 35 - 40 the sounds gets distorted so im happy now. If you have iTunes just up the volume % and it will fix the issue.

I got the 73 installed at Beat buy. Although it works decently, I'm really into sound quality and this isn't fitting the bill. The guy told me it be near CD quality but that was a huge lie. It sounds as good as a clear radio station but thats it. I'm actually going back to get it taken out and I'm gonna get a aftermarket radio put in.

Spence, I'm also looking into an aftermarket radio. Let me know what you find. Are you looking for a 1 or 2 din?

Did Best Buy installed it through a FM transmitter. I read on here that some ppl that had best buy do the install complain they installed the unit through an FM transmitter?
