Ishd71 iSim71 volume issues. Inline signal boost
Hello all. I have a 04 6MT no Nav.
I had a Dice Electronics ipod adapter for a few years. It was fine really, it wouldn't charge, and the AUX port (3.5mm) had HORRIBLE feedback, but the main connector was fine.
Well. It died. Replaced it with a iSHD71. I do __not__ use the iPod/iPhone cable. I'm over it and on to bluetooth using a blackberry music gateway. Sound quality is great, it pairs automatically and I don't have to use the cable that they provide that is obnoxiously large. Now any phone that can stream will work.
The issue now is that the volume is pretty darn low in comparison to the CD/Radio/blah. It's worth noting it has the same issue attached to the cable and I'm surprised more people aren't fed up with it.
I think the issue is just the signal is pretty weak coming in and out of the isimple device. I actually called PAC audio and they said it was only a 20% loss in volume. Sorry, calling bullsh!t here. It's like 75% less to me.
Anyone else feel the same way? Wondering if I amplify the signal with one of these if it will help. http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=28
Funny, it's made by the same company and is the cheapest option. I can find them for $20-$30 bucks.
Thoughts? Similar situations? Solutions that aren't stupid priced?

Update...
I was originally only using Pandora streaming. Playing random mp3's is better, but still not ideal.
Wondering if this will boost the signal enough to match the other sources. It's rather frustrating when your volume is in the high 20's and then switch to the radio.... ouch.
