ok... finally had a chance to try it... well the cable works!! Tried it on my TV and in my car!! Jailbroken phone and TVOUT makes it work!!

But the thing is.. I wanted to be able to do the following.. Use my steering wheel controls and see the iPhone screen on my Navi Screen.. That was what I was looking for!

BUT..... this is actually what happens..
- I turn on my car, plug in my iphone to the magic cable and plug the magic cable to the iSimple cord AND my video RCA input in my glovebox.
- As soon as I turn my car on, my iSimple recognizes that my iPhone is plugged in and starts to play music.
- So I turn on the TVOUT program.. Unfortunately, the way TVOUT works is that it needs to be turned on BEFORE the iPod function of the iPhone turns on.
- SOOO.. I have this new jailbroken app that allows me to turn off apps.. so I turn off iPod process.. I think once I do this, the iSimple stops working..
- So then I turn on TVOUT
- Then I go back to the iPod screen and my music begins to play and the iPd screen is on my Navi screen.. BUT I CANNOT USE MY STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS TO CHANGE THE MUSIC!! Dogh!! I dont know what happened!

Maybe screensplttr program will work.. but for some reason when I use screenspltr nothing happens!

So, basically I have this cable that has a video out now, but can plug into an iphone dock lol .. At least it charges and at least it can play video and sound at the same time!! Can the Apple AV cord do that?! in the end this cord was not worth the money I paid for it lol .. If I were to tell them to make another one, I would have them change the way the RCA plug is.. they put it in the wrong place.. See pic Below..



Maybe I will use this cord for A home theatre system when I move to a new house..

Isimple makes a cable that works for the iPhone for video and audio + charges, the magic cable.

I seen it in some car audio mag.

Yes I need to know about this cable?! lol .. I know why my magic cable doesnt work.. its because it is missing the apple chip.. otherwise it would work.. i broke down and just recently bought the Apple cord.. its soo cool using it with screenspltr .. I put a tv in my moms car.. and I connect my iPhone to it and use xGPS.. it talks through the speakers and shows the map on the screen.. sooo freakin awesome!

 

Why not just use the USA Spec PA15-HON3 for Ipod controls on screen and steering wheel, and use the AUX. USe Video Converter (Dom's Nav2Go or NavTool) for Video. Use Ipod AV Cable and connect the Video from Ipod cable to Video Converter and connect two Audio cables from the USA Spec PA15-HON3 AUX to the Ipod AV cable Audio. The thing is that you will have to disconnect the Ipod Charge cable from the USA Spec before Connecting the Ipod AV cable. Which shouldn't be a problem since you can watch Video and play music at the same time anyway. Just a thought.
