I was hoping that something like this might solve everything but it won't pass on the information. http://cablejive.com/universal-dock-converter

I already have the isimple and doms tvandnav, so I am going to add
Dice cradle(whenever they are in stock somewhere)
Dock Extender Cable http://cablejive.com/dock-extender-cable
Proclip Mount and Cradle with pass through.

Mount the proclip mount, then wire the dice cradle out of sight connecting the two with the dock extender cable. That way I have a choice between the two.

Thoughts?

No problem man.. thait is right you need to jailbreak your iphone and get screenspltr app: http://www.plutinosoft.com/blog/projects/screensplitr/

Yah that converter only passes audio.. dogh..

what you are trying to do is exactly what I want to do! I just havent had the time or money to buy everything JUST yet. .

The only thing that the dice unit has is that it passes through everything and has separate video video wire.. I was just trying to find a wire with all that! I think I found a site that has things like that, but they are not responding to phone calls or emails..

why do you want the dice cradle? if its gonna be out of site then why not get the apple composite A/V cable and run that out of site, im assuming you want video, since the isimple will give you audio.

Isimple will give me audio that's true, but I would also like to be able to control my iphone via the steering wheel controls.
I am trying to figure out a way to integrate doms and isimple.

Now I am just contemplating getting a ipod classic to throw in the glove box and use for isimple and hooking up the iphone to dom's and run the audio either through isimple or the console aux input.

Well, I just called this company again today..

EXCITING NEWS!!
They are able to make me an iphone extender cable with the Video out pin connected to a video plug!! He will be making me one. Hopefully, I will be getting it and all my parts to try it out within the next month! So, now I got my cable woohoo!! no more Dice! Hopefully with this I will be able to get the Video to Doms and use the iSimple to get text on the screen.. all in one cable.. and if I get the iPhone incompatability issues then use the software hacks to allow me to use 3rd party accessories

Ok now that I started, I want to get everything..
- Where are people getting their DOMs units for less then 200? And please dont say in the vendor forum on group buys, because I do not see it there for that much.

I'm stuck trying to decide if I just want to buy an ipod classic or order one of the splitters.
Ipod Classic I could keep hooked up to the isimple, while my iphone is connected to the Video and running into the aux audio input.
I think that may be what I do as I can get a 160gig classic for 200.
Then I just need the proclip mount. I want it all by next Saturday.
Anyone know how long it takes for proclip to deliver?

That's awesome bzyrice! I'm going to stay on the path I had planned, if and that's a big IF, this cable becomes available I could pick one later.

Good job hopefully this magic cable becomes reality! I mean how hard could it be for someone who makes these things really be?

Heres some initial pics of his setup:

And here is the thread showing how he did it: (pretty nice if you ask me!)

That looks very similar to what I'm doing, but it looks like he'll still have to take the cable and Physically grab the cable and plug it in to the phone. Mine will just be a drop in and slide version. It looks clean. But i think I could do a cleaner job. First of it's kind on a 3rd gen.

It looks like he's got the irev app too, I was thinking of getting the wifi module for it, it's pretty cool! I'm a gadget geek! Lol!

I found it for about $159, there's another one or upgrade for $100 more which gives you a ton more sensor readings.

I'm going to try to knock this thing out by tues next week, look for the thread.

Hmmm, this is starting to worry me. I have this unit a haven't gotten around to installing it yet, I'm still working on fabricating the iPhone dock.

Hope mine doesn't turn out defective!

Great Setup!

I'm trying to setup my Iphone to do the same thing (Radio audio controls, display text and video output) Have you got a chance to setup the custom cable? I'm curious to know!

guys is there any way to not just connect the phone's a/v to the nav screen but also be able to use the navigation's touch screen to control the input? I know I saw in the TSX forum that they had a thread that located the touchscreen coordinates https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...chscreen+input

Hey np man glad I could help. Maybe someone will figure this out. I was also wondering, what if you bought a new aftermarket touch screen and got a splitter to hook up the navi and the rca input for the phone and be able to use whichever input you wanted. In theory it should still show up the navigation screen (which by the way might be in higher definition? If im not wrong I think this screen had an weaker resolution?) and see your phones input in higher resolution as well (better for viewing movies and whatnot). I could be missing something but I think that holds weight. Plus, it in theory doesn't just have to be for your iphone, if this worked, you could use any other touchscreen phone with a video out if we were able to map these coordinates. Phones with android and also like the maemo 5 on the nokia n900 have really slick interfaces that show up texts and emails and facebook/twitter (if you're fans) notifcations with sweet visuals. Plus the touchscreen input on your phones on-screen keyboard would also be put on the screen giving you pretty much a carputer. Someone needs to figure this out because this could be SWEET.

Ok I'm done with my rant now

Anyways, I have been inspired by Elegant Type S' setup here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/my-iphone-3g-integrations-setup-lots-pics-even-videos-704403/

I was planning on getting the following:
- DOMs
- Video splitter (anything anyone can recommend?).. I want to get this to split the video input into the DOMs between the iPhone and a dvd player so I can retain the reverse camera.
- Monster cables for the video wire
- Fog Light button with DVD logo to control the Navi screen display from Navi to Vid Ins.. Does someone have the link to how to do this? I have been searching but couldnt find it.

- Dice Cradle with video out.
- iSimple unit so i can see text and control the iPhone from the car.. how does this unit connect to the car? Also, how does it work with the extra Aux in? Is there a button you ahve to push to switch it?

- Small DVD player to fit in center console.. Which ones fit? I saw one in here, but couldnt find this link either.

Would this setup work for what I want?

Thanks!

your a bad ass! good luck pulling this off. I wouldn't know where to begin and feel like an idiot. Your car looks amazing too. So did your S2000. I can relate. I had an '05 s2k as well. Same combo, white on red.

I noticed an AV iphone adapter online that contains Video, Audio & Charging by USB Capabilities... This may help with some of your setups. Only problem with this adapter is you would not be able to control the device by cars stereo...
