I had one in my Impala that had the charger and one for my 300C without (little cheaper)

they are molded plastic, and basically molded to the specific car you have..

I've had the one in the 300c for nearly 5 years, hasn't broken, fallen off, etc.. it does it's job..

there are a lot of options for clips, I wanted one that didn't distract from the look of the interior, Proclip provided that.. and no I don't work for them, just a happy customer.

Ok...two questions. First. Is that an Acura Sticker on the bottom of the clip or did proclips custom ingrave it for you? (If so, how did you get the option?
Second, I was telling my wife about seeing your 3g with the pic in the backdrop of your icons. Now how did you get them behind your backdrop, the only background i am able to do is the lock screen. Thanks for the help.

Background image + 3G fireball = jailbroken. Not sure if that's allowed to be talked about here.

But I haven't decided if I'm keeping mine on the cupholder cover or will get a mount. I kinda like it there.

Elegant has a sweet setup. Love the Momo shifter too.

With the Proclip mounts...

Is it possible to only use the swivel mount without the 3G TL adapter?

I was thinking ... just use two way tape and stick the mount to the metal trim
For instance:
Using THIS without THIS

For those with a ProClip would this be functional?
I have USAspec in my car so I would be plugging the mount into that.

here's a pick of mine. I'm using a braketron mount with an ipod holder. I customized the Scoche adapter to perfectly fit under the ipod (mine is a touch) so that when i slide it on and off, i don't have to connect or disconnect it.

Looks good crazyjr79, not bad for a custom job

but the Proclip still looks SO clean compared to that... maybe its worth the extra coin.

I have the proclip mount. I didn't like the mounting locations Proclip offered, so I removed the tilt swivel and mounted it on the driver side, below the vent. This keeps it out of the way of the driver and passenger sitting area..

Oh I like that... I may try something like that.

Seems like the Proclip is still the best method out there.

Pro Clip FTW! I thought about ^^^ that location too.. but then I'm righty and so operating the iPhone with my left hand while driving would be even more dangerous... LMAO.

Proclip cost more.. but looks more OEM imo.

I noticed you're on AUX1 ... do you control your ipod through your radio controls still? I had this behavior in my isimple once. I don't know how it worked. I could control my ipod through my radio and the ipod itself. I didn't understand it (I was on AUX2).

Also, is there a proclip for the middle consel? Kinda bimmer style?

VTE-nice job man! I just let my iPhone sit on the top of the cup holder cover, but that looks excellent. You and Elegant have them set up right! By the way, how did you get the red background on your iPhone? That looks really good....

You will have to jailbreak your phone and then download an application called BossPaper. It will let you use anything you choose for your background, it can even cycle through images with a specified time delay.

YES!! that's the beauty of it. I don't care that it doesn't display the artist info cause my ipod does that for me. Plus i get album views. I can change tracks, rw/ff, and that's all i need. Until they fix all the bugs, this works out great for me. Aux 2 is for the audio in only. Aux 1 uses audio through the ipod wire, but gives you the option to make changes through the ipod without the "accessory connected" displayed

Ok if I get the proclip adapter that Elegant has will the iphone play through the sound system? What cables will I need? I think I saw someones set up and it was way too much work for me. I don't need all that functionality. Just play the music from my phone on the sound system and of course a mount. Thanks...

PS: I have an 07 TL-S

yes you can change tracks with the steering wheel for the 04-06 in either aux1 or direct ipod mode, as for the 07-08 with nav i'm not sure.

What interface are you guys using? Like you said, I want to be able to still see the normal ipod display (not "connected") and be able to scroll on the ipod (10000 songs takes a while through the radio) but being able to change track from the steering wheel would be awesome! I'm assuming your dock charges your ipod too?

Although I'm still looking for the best situation myself, I've heard from a number of people that the interfaces that work with the oem radio plug into the back of the radio where you XM is plugged in now, and then the xm plugs into the back of that like a passthrough thing. I guess the interface has some sort of board in it that tells the car radio to have one or multiple aux inputs (depending on the interface) The one I'm looking at (Blitzsafe) I believe works by cycling through those inputs through your xm button. You push it once for xm, twice for aux 1, etc. Another one I heard of had to be selected within 10 seconds of turning on the radio, or it was locked on whichever setting you left it on, so I'm staying away from that one. The only problem I have now is Blitzsafe lets you either use the iPod cable to charge the ipod and make it controlled through the headunit, but lose control through the ipod, or you can just use the headphone jack run to RCA ports, but then you lose steering wheel control and have to have a cigarrette lighter charger, which sucks because I normally have my GPS and/or radar detector running already off. I miss my pickup truck with 3 cigarrette ports:-(.

I'm using the Peripheral Isimple Interface. You must change it from Ipod to Aux 1 in order to get the ability of accessing your music through your Ipod

I like this a lot, but does it block the mirrow controls too much?

Also, which proclip option did you get? Their website has 3 options.

Thanks!

Just the device holder...

http://www.proclipusa.com/brodit-dev...246-17526.aspx

Doesn't really interfere with the mirror controls, even if it did, I honestly haven't adjusted my mirrors since I purchased the car.

I checked Isimples products and there are a TON...what gives you one wire out to the cabin to hook into your ipod to play and charge? I'm using a Belkin system now with the headphone wire into the armrest and powered off the cig lighter...lots of wires!
