I have a 2004 TL (No Nav) looking to integrate an iPhone 3Gs (iOS4) into and I don't use my XM. I used search and it seems most of the useful threads are from years ago. I'm sure new products have come out since then.

I'm just looking for something to play my music and charge the iphone, I could care less if it displays any track/title information on my head unit. What would be my best (cheapest) option and do they sell it at any brick and mortar stores? I'm looking to get it installed tomorrow because I'm going on a long road trip this weekend. Thanks!

 

Best bet if you want it cheap, and dont mind if there isnt any track info is to use the PIE X3. Best part is you get to have two other inputsin case you decide to add something later. The harness pig backs off of the XM, so you can still use the xm as well. Take a look at eleganttypes's thread - you can follow his instructions, but only need to install the pie x3, and grab an apple aux cord, along with a mount for you phone. Install is simple. total cost if you install yourself is probably around 100 (ebay is your friend)!

 

BTW, it will work with IOS4. I have the iPhone 4 and it works great. While your upgrading you tl to have a new iphone integration, may as well grab the iphone 4. Its lik enight and day compared to the 3GS. It truley would complete the package!

 

Thanks for the help. I actually stood in line for 3 and a half hours on launch day to pick one up for my fiance. Too bad, I'm not due for an upgrade until March of 2011! I might just wait until next June for whatever Apple has planned next.
