Interior LED ideas

Hey everyone,

I'm helping my friend put in LED underglow under their dash, which I have done many times and has always been easy. Unfortunately, I usually went through a dashboard dimmer switch that came on automatically with the headlights. In a 2004 Acura TL however, it seems that tapping into the headlight system is going to be a huge pain since it is built into the steering wheel.

So my question is this: Where is an easy access 12V constant supply, and easy to access ground wire that can have the lighting easily tied into. Thanks!

Dillon

Note: This person is very cautious about me "taking things apart" which is why I am not about to take apart their steering wheel =P

Also: I have thought about going into the cigerette lighters (either the one in front of the shifter, or the one in the center console). If this seems like a good idea, how hard is it to remove these and get to the wiring?

The one in the center console is pretty easy to get to you just have to unscrew the 2 screws in the arm rest and pull the silver trims off the sides of the center console to access the screws around the cup holder and pull that out and you're golden.

^the center console i guess if that makes more sense. In the bottom portion theres a rubber mat at the bottom and beneath that you'll see the screws.

Tap the positive wire to the parking light wire, which is located top left behind the driver dash cover (google pics for reference), and tap the ground to the steering column bolt.

That will give you what you want (turn on when you turn on headlights).

I've got under dash lighting in the front and back. Check My Garage to see pictures.
