Interesting Stereo Problem in 07 TL-S...

Alright, so I did some searching through the garage and whatnot and could not find an answer, and am completely mind boggled.

I have an 07 TLS, and audio-wise, everything has functioned perfectly up until the other day when I was in my car, and hit the button to change to a different CD, and then everything changed. Upon hitting the button, you could hear the changer reading the new disc and also making some odd mechanical noises (not quite screeching, and not very pronounced unless you really listen), but noises that were not there before. After doing this for around five seconds or so, the 'track info' display screen above the navi flashes "DISC FORMAT" and it spits my disk out.

I put it back in, and had the same result. Tried this with all six of the discs I had in, and they all did the same thing. None would play, and all gave the "DISC FORMAT" error. None of the disks are special media or anything, none are burnt CDs, and they've all been working fine in my system for weeks.

So basically, my car is now incapable of playing CDs.

Any thoughts?

sounds like the cd player took a dump.
hope you're in warranty.

Also, check out our Houston thread. We have meets all the time! the next one is Dec. 4th. We'll be going to Cars and Coffe, and then heading to an all state RSX meet in spring, tx.

Knock on wood...mine hasn't done this yet but what's it cost?? I'm guessing we don't have the cool option like Alpine for our navigation for this issue.

i am still in warranty, although I hope it's just something i'm overlooking, and not the entire thing needing replacing, i've got my fingers crossed

and i'm subscribed to the houston thread! made it to a somewhat failed meet this summer at five guys in sugarland, but have since been back up at school.

anyone else have any thoughts on my stereo issue? any help is appreciated!
