The Dom's unit doesn't provide audio interface. You will need an additional device for that. The iSimple seems to be the most popular choice around here; it allows direct control of an iPod as well as an AUX input for other devices, like a DVD player. In order for you to get sound from your DVD player, you will need one of these units.

Of course, I said all of this assuming you have an 04-06 TL. The 07-08 models have an AUX input in the center console which you could just hook into.

I tapped the cigarette lighter for Dom's unit.

Someone may correct me, but I would leave well enough alone with the factory radio. It's too expensive a piece of equipment for me to tempt fate by possibly diminishing the amount of power it gets by adding something else to its circuit.

Where to get power for your DVD player all depends on where you want to put it. If it were me, I would probably use an add-a-fuse in the fuse box and run a line to the DVD player (particularly if you are putting it in the center console) as that won't be too long a run. But it's all a matter of preference. When I added my WDTV (hard drive based media player), I used an add-a-fuse.
