Installing amp and sub help.

Hey guys let me first introduce myself. My name is Brian and I just purchased a 2005 Red TL and I live out in Northern California. I love the TL but it needs a little more bass. I already have my old sub and amp from my trade in and would like to install them while keeping the factory speakers/cd player. I plan on tapping into the sub line in the trunk for audio input into the amp and running the power wire to the battery will be easy but I am confused on where I run my Remote turn on wire (+12v wire that turns the amp on) to. I have read through man posts as well as the FAQ and cannot find anything.
Thanks.

i tapped into the cig lighter in the center console, not too worried about too much draw since i never use it. running wires to the front is a huge pain.

re

80$??? i dont think anyone would touch it for 80$ especially if they know what they are doing if you know what i mean. Ive done the install on my car and i would never do it for under 250$ including all expenses for wirings and LOC, which rouded up around 80$. For a sure job go to a specialised garage or id prefer doing it myself taking my time and being very careful at every little detail, no one will be more careful than yourself on your car remember that.

If you need some additional info for the info post it up here so we can all help you as well

Goodluck

Thanks guys but I got it done yesterday by the shop. And yes it was only 80 bucks. They did a great job. It’s running off the stock sub into my hi-low input, so I can even control the sub volume from the factory cd player.

After I got home from the shop I noticed the rattling, but I had some left over Raamat from my older car. So I installed 2 layers in the trunk lid area which seemed to help. However, I still had some rattle in the rear deck area.

So I had an idea to buy some polyfill and stuff it. All I had to do was pull down the lining where the speakers are in the trunk with the 4 plastic screws. I then laid a big sheet of polyfill, and then with another sheet I ripped some of it apart and stuff it inside the holes where the speakers are. I then put the black lining back (which was now pretty difficult since its a tighter fit). Now my rattle is gone for the most part while inside the car. There is a little bit coming from the trunk still but you can only tell if you are standing outside. Overall I am very happy!

If anyone wants I can take some pictures.

I am in the Yuba city/Marysville area. I just moved out here (Beale AFB) because of a base transfer. I am in the Air Force.
