Well, I have one on a FEDEX truck being delivered today so I'll report once I get it installed. May be a while as the weather is not nice enough for me to start doing mods, hopefully sometime this month.
Note it is a Basslink II, not the original.

I love really old threads. I feel like I'm yelling into an empty cave to see if anyone is in it when asking for an update of an old thread like this...

I promise I will. It was actually on the truck Saturday and got some sort of exception at 7pm with no delivery attempt (did aliens abduct the fedex van??). Next business day delivery was promised (according to my book should have been Monday) but it never had an update. It's 'out for delivery' as we speak. Hopefully aliens won't abduct again!

Bad news.. it's going to snow again here tommorrow and I'm away this weekend so won't be until next week before I have a chance to play with it. I'm ready and willing to start working on things along with my mudflaps, door edge guards, rear lip spoiler, window roll up module, Infinity tweets and center. My family room is full of boxes...argh.. bring on the nice weather!!!

I'm not sure if I am going to run the remote control up to the drivers area or not. I'm the set it and leave it kind of guy, depends on how well the subwoofer level on the head unit works (if I need to reduce/increase due to program content).

Whoops, I forgot to answer about the remote. Because my stereo is on ALL the time, I'm probably just going to tap from the fuse box on an accessory line for now.
The Basslink II seems to have an 'auto sense' setting, I might try that out 1st. It's been my experience with some auto-on subs that they 'time out' too fast and arent' sensitive enough to turn on quickly. We'll see how it works 1st before hard-wiring a remote line.

I LOVE THE BASSLINK! My 1998 Maxima only had 6.5 speakers in the back dash and the front doors and two tweeters. Spending $200 on a Basslink, installing in the wheel well of the trunk and you would have thought I dropped $2,000 in that stereo. My brother-in-law still has this car (I have owned a 2003 Maxima with a Bose stereo since then and currently a 2006 Acura TL) and I love listening to that thing.
So in my opinion, if you don't want to waste space or money, want something SUPER easy to install, and want BOOM this is the thing for you.

Basslink Subwoofer Help
I hope someone can help me out , this is my first post on this forum.
I had a basslink sub installed in my '07 TL Type S
While driving I have a whining bass frequency from the sub when I accelerate and decelerate. This also happens when the radio volume is set to 0 or the radio is off.
The power was taken from the battery and the audio was taken from the rear factory sub via a LOC. The sub is grounded in the trunk with a wire thats less than a foot long and the remote wire is pulled to the front underneath the steering wheel.
I had the motivation to do this mod after looking at pictures posted by "Lembowski".
The sub sounded great in the shop, a perfect complement to the factory speaker system. But to my dismay after driving away from the audio mechanic shop something wierd started happening with the sub.
Everytime I would accelerate or decelerate the sub would give off some kind of fluctuating bass frequency, kind of like a whining bass noise. This would also happen when the radio volume was set to 0.
Has anyone had this happen to them?
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to troubleshoot or to fix this?
Thanks in advance!!

I've read about this on here - appears the new 07 S have a noise cancelation feature, sounds exactly like what you've described. Read this forum, i think this will help you.

Sounds like engine noise, your power wires that you are using might not be shielded properly, I had that probelem before. Use better wires and see if that helps. It sounds like a Dentist Toothbrush right?

Thanks guys for your suggestions but I think 7Davie7 might have the closest solution. The shops installed other subs for me for other cars and all of them worked out fine. It just seems to be something specific to the 07 TLS which is described in that other posting. I will try out the solution tomorrow and let you know.
By the way "Elegant Type S", the basslink II does not fit in the wheel well. I tried it out first and then ended up going with the basslink I since I definitely wanted more trunk space.

Anybody know how the wiring to the Navi will work? If I were to install the Infiniti Basslink at a store, will that void my warranty on the car? Are there auxialary outputs on the Navi where the sub will be connected?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

REALLY tired of the crappy weather the last month. Here's what's been sitting in my family room for like 2 months.
I have a LOC to use but may not just to make turn on easier, but then I might use it AND do a tap off of the main rear speakers just in case the factory subwoofer doesn't hit 'high' enough.
Here's a question I haven't seen mentioned here.. anyone know the crossover point of the factory sub??
Guys, I'll eventually get the BL installed, maybe by July??

I've used the basslink in the past and quickly swapped for a single box with an exterior amp. for the $100 of so you will spend on getting separate sub & amp is defin worth it. the basslink was too sloppy for me. a single 10" in sealed box with a decent amp will sound much cleaner

Thank you lembowski. Where is the best place to get the power and ground? I had the Basslink in my old Honda and when I had it installed, they had a wire running all the way to the battery positive terminal - wasn't the cleanest install.
Trying to find a place that might have worked on an Acura before. When I find a place, where should I tell them to get the power from? Is there a way to tap into the fuse box?
Thanks.

you should run an 8awg (minimum) or 4awg for future straight from the battery. Place an inline fuse within 12" of where the cable attaches to the battery with a fuse equal to that of the Basslink. This should run back to the Basslink.
The ground wire should be as short as possible and should be local to where you have the Basslink installed.
I wouldn't recommend tapping into the fuse box for 12V power to the Basslink amplifier. Most amp installs get the power directly from the battery.

I STILL haven't installed mine yet, we are finally getting good weather this weekend but I decided to devote it to cleaning and zainoing the car. I might attempt during the week in the evenings but hesitant to start the job without enough time to finish. Maybe in two stages.. one night run the power, next night hook it up. It will probably move around the trunk until I find the best place for it. I'm dying to get it running though to reduce the output of the factory sub.
I was trying to do something simple and the basslink (II) seemed to be liked here on the forum and the most un obtrusive (sp?) thing to do (ugly, yes, but it's in the trunk!).
If it doesn't perform well I'll try throwing in some of the stuff from my old ride (2 polk DB10's in individual boxes and big ole Alpine amp).
