I want to add just a sub...
Whats the easiest way to do it?
I plan on addin an amplifier, and obviously the woofer.
Is a Line Output Converter the right way? high level inputs off the sub wiring?

2 ways, one involves keeping stock sub and one requires removal
.
for w/ stock
.
tap in to sub wires near stock sub. COnnect to Line Out Converter. From LOC, wire to AMP. From AMP wire to Sub.
.
w/o stock
.
remove stock sub, take wires from sub and connect to LOC. from LOC, they go to AMP. From AMP to sub.
.
simple, but if you wish to add a 3.sixty signal processor, put it instead of the LOC.

the only ones that i can find are 2 channel and 60 watt max...
60 watt should not be enough to power a JL 8w3v2 correct?
i have had the sub and amp wiring kit and dynamat extreme at my place for almost 2 weeks, just waiting to figure out the best way for install
any help would be awesome

Despar I was looking at that sub and was considering at the JL 250/1 or A1200... I think both had speaker level input that were okay with the TL's stock amp output level.
But I'm gunna buy a house. So I have to chill on the buying of stuff..
Every nice audio system I have ever seen... There were nice amps.
Let me know how it turns out.

re
the Sloc costed me 15.99$ Canadian at a local audio store here in montreal, i dont think you can find better and cheaper to add just a set of subs but if your looking for more you might as well look into the Navone
good luck

i looked at the stinger's on ebay, but they say they are all rated for 60 watts,.
jl e1200 an a1200 is much more than that, and you should need to push an e8" JL sub right? Just seems really low, let me know if the ones you are using are only rated at 60 watt
thanks

yeah it has everything to do with the input watts...like the speaker wattage not the external amp wattage (like your after market sub woofer amp). They are only concerned about the actual line wattage coming from the factory amp not your after market amp

You can't go wrong with Navone, Peripheral or Stinger for an LOC.
Are you planning on upgrading the existing sub by replacing the factory, or are you going with an enclosure? I highly recommend you go with the enclosure and remove the stock sub. You will have to take off the rear deck cover to dynamat anyway.

I have an enclosure that was custom built for a single JL 12w6v2. it was built specifically for our TL and fits perfectly up against the seat facing the rear. It also has a high end terminal cup that will accommodate 12 gauge wire with no problem.
It hits really hard and sounds excellent. The only reason I'm getting rid of it is because I'm having a custom fiberglass trunk done. The sub has already been removed and the box is sitting in my living room.
If you're interested, PM me.

Custom TL Box Dimensions
Hi, is there any way you can give me the exact DIMENSIONS of the custom box you had built for your TL? I am in the process of designing one, but if you already have the dimensions, it would save me lots of time. Thanks in advance; my email address is reggie29@cox.net. Keep rockin!

simple, but if you wish to add a 3.sixty signal processor, put it instead of the LOC.

Would it work?
Sounds like it would put extra load on the stock amplifier or it'll make the bass sound like absolute horse dookie.
I was planning on matting up the rear deck and just leaving the sub hole empty. Would that be a good idea or should I just mat it up?
Thanks!
