i need help!!!

okay....here's my problem....i have verizon wireless and i signed a 2 year deal back in march or april or this year.....it was the first phone to have the VCAST and i was just hooked on it (great picture quality also.....) couple months later, i purchased my TL and now we have a problem..... the phone that i have is non-bluetooth....i didnt even know what bluetooth was until i purchased TL and started to read these posts.....i went to verizon and talked to them but nothing they can do...which i understand since i had the phone for more than 1/2 year...i bought this bluetooth converting thing from them but found out that dont work...dont really wanna pay the full retail price for a new phone.....rather get body kit with that money.....so here's my question....is there any way that i could get my nonbluetooth phone to work in my car??? i think i know the answer to this question but thought to give it a try.....thanx guys...

Have you tried calling to see if you can get an "equipment upgrade" in exchange for lengthening your contract? I have Cingular and they will sometimes let yu buy a new phone for a highly discounted price.

It may still be possible to add something to the phone. I see something that Jabra puts out for their headsets called a "bluetooth multi-adapter" (http://www.alternativewireless.com/j...h-enabled.html). It may be proprietary or may work for you. 50-50 on that.

Also check out an ebay auction (not mine) http://cgi.ebay.com/Bluetooth-Handsf...QQcmdZViewItem

So others have had this problem and solved it.

If you call the customer service number and talk to them they are generally more amenable to making an accomodation. If your plan is a relatively high monthly rate fee and you explain the blue tooth issue they might cut you a deal. They did for me but I had my phone 18 months not 6. Still it's worth a shot.

Which phone do you have? As far as I know, most of all the phones that support VCAST are bluetooth enabled, with the exception of the Audiovox CDM8940.

The phone has to support the HFL profile in order to be compatible with the TL. As far as I know, none of these aftermarket bluetooth add ons are compatible the TL's HFL.

I was in the same situation with verizon. I bough the bluetooth phone and ebayed my old phone. Got some of my money back. Your old phone is still kinda new so you may get something for it, maybe more than you think. BTW The bluetooth link on the TL is awesome.

Do some homework on the net and find out what bt phones are available for Verison, I don't think that there are many but might be wrong. If you get lucky, buy a used unlocked (if possible) phone.

Try howardforums.com most of your questions can be answered there.
