Hey guys i own a 2005 acura tl non navi and i wanted to know if anyone has put in the monitor from the navi but didnt apply the navigation system to it. Meaning if I could set up the tv part only and connect a system to it.

It simply would not work, the factory radio would not function, and the screen wouldn't function unless it was modified to an large extent Search for carputer here and you will find a wealth of info for those you you with a non-navi TL. As well, look into a navi conversion.

that or a carputer. If you do a full navi conversion it will cost about 2k and if you do a carputer (no other controls than the new touchscreen for carputer) it will be about 1.5 and you would void some radio warranties. In all honesty, i would go with a factory navi and dom's converter because when you decide to sell the car, you will have more buyers intrested rather than a small percentage wanting a carputer. If you need help, PM me, as well, i'm in FL

, but the problem is that when yu sell the car, reversing back to stock isn't easy and there is a very small market of people wanting a carputer TL

Don't bother with the navi screen if you're not going to get the navi component. Just get an aftermarket LCD (Xenarc) and mount it in place.

Check out the links below. In the gallery section you'll find my 05 TL with the same setup you're asking for.
