How to extract pins from connectors?
Ok, so I should be about ready to install my navigation in about a week or so. I been toying with an old connector trying to de-pin it so if something happens during my install I'll have the know how right now so I can fix things when the important stuff happens. Anyway I have tried everything, I have tried forcing the pin out with a pick, pushing through the back with a paper clip and well I must not be doing something right. So if anyone has any pointers on how to do this without spending $50 on a kit, I am all ears. Also if someone could at least explain to me how exactly these pins lock into place that would be helpful as well.
Thanks

Also some pins require another tool that looks like 4 small picks at the end. I dont have a good way to explain it but gm sells them at their parts shops. SHould be like 10 bucks.

and how does it work? do you push through the back where the male pins go in and does it slide ride out?
